Updating the Homepage
The Homepage component is located on the sidebar (Single Types > Homepage.) The available components for edits and updates are:
- Title: the Header on the page (slugs are not necessary for the homepage and are therefore not available for editing)
- Content: a large body of text for the page
- Blocks: dynamic page components that can be added, updated and deleted (for step by step instructions on creating each component, use the blocks documentation. Block components include:
- Callouts: a navigational or call to action tool
- Content: a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) tool
- pageImages: a component used to add images to the page
Note: The Homepage should never be deleted or unpublished as this will cause the website to break
As an example, let’s edit the Homepage content component with information about hedgehogs by creating a list of hedgehog fun facts!
Click the bulleted list icon in the toolbar located at the top of the text box, and begin typing in your text.
When you are finished click the “Save” button, located at the top right. Your changes will be reflected on the live SCAS website in 1 - 15 minutes from saving.
